Abbassi Madani, the old man who did not ask for forgiveness

A former mujahid, Arabist academic and then leader of the FIS, Abbassi Madani traversed all the fault lines of contemporary Algeria. Having died in exile in Doha and buried in Algiers without having asked for forgiveness, he leaves behind an impossible legacy: that of a man repressed by the State, but also responsible for having led an immense popular anger toward the abyss.
